Larissa Figueiredo (1988) is a filmmaker, writer, and educator from Brasília, Brazil. Her work unfolds in the hybrid space between fiction and non-fiction, exploring shared invention between subjects and territories. As a process, she investigates the boundaries between cinema and literature, and the micropolitics of affections and events that emerge from encounters.

Her films have been showcased at festivals such as Rotterdam, Locarno, FIDMarseille, Tiradentes, Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival, and the São Paulo International Film Festival. Her most notable works include The Bull (2015), a hybrid feature awarded the Visions Sud Est Prize; The King (2014), winner of the 9th Rucker Vieira Screenplay Competition; Saudade (2019), an episode of the series O Som e o Tempo for Canal Brasil; and Mulheres de Encantaria (2023), currently airing on CinebrasilTV. As a producer, she has signed on to projects such as Street Under (2019), by Tomás Osten, which premiered at Locarno, and Valley of Souls (2018), by Nicolás Rincón Gille, winner of the Étoile d'Or at the Marrakech International Film Festival. Larissa also works as an editor, with experience ranging from short films screened at festivals to television series for platforms such as Amazon Prime, Disney/Star+, HBO, and Canal Curta!

She is the founder of Cazumbá Filmes, where she develops both artistic and educational projects. She has taught at universities and film schools in Brazil and abroad, including EICTV (Cuba), CalArts (USA), and DocNomads (Portugal), and served as coordinator at the International Film Academy in São Paulo. She was also a facilitator for the project Inventar com a Diferença (2013), a partnership between the Brazilian Secretariat for Human Rights and Fluminense Federal University. Larissa studied Literature at the University of Brasília (UnB); Film Studies at Université Lumière Lyon 2 (France) and Universidad del Cine (Argentina); and Visual Arts/Cinema of the Real at Haute École d’Art et Design in Geneva (Switzerland), where she studied with artists such as Miguel Gomes, Albert Serra, and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. She is an alumna of the Locarno Academy and Berlinale Talents, and was an artist-in-residence at Akademie Schloss Solitude (Germany) from 2022 to 2023. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Lisbon.
