É cineasta, educadora, escritora e bailarina. Estudou Letras na UnB; Teoria do Cinema na Université Lumière Lyon 2, na França, e Artes Visuais/Cinema na Haute Ecole d’Art et Design de Genève, na Suíça, onde teve aula com artistas como Miguel Gomes, Albert Serra e Apichatpong Weerasethakul. O Touro, seu primeiro longa-metragem híbrido, vencedor do Concurso de Roteiros Rucker Viera, foi contemplado pelo Vision Sud Est Award, teve sua estreia mundial no 44º Festival de Cinema de Roterdã, e foi exibido em dezenas de eventos nacionais e internacionais. Larissa atuou como roteirista, diretora, produtora e montadora de diversos projetos, desde curtas, exibidos em festivais, até séries de televisão para HBO, Canal Curta!, CinebrasilTv e Canal Brasil. Também trabalhou no desenvolvimento da série Inara, contemplada no edital de desenvolvimento FSA/BRDE Prodav 05/2014, e no Núcleo Criativo Aqui e Lá, da Sto Lat Filmes, que contou com as consultorias de Lucrecia Martel, Karim Aïnouz, Rodrigo Moreno, Gema Juarez e Zsuzsanna Kiràly. Como professora, ministrou aulas e oficinas em escolas e universidades; foi mediadora do projeto Inventar com a Diferença; assessora da EICTV, em Cuba, e Calarts, nos EUA; e coordenadora na AIC, em São Paulo. Atualmente se dedica à pós-produção de dois projetos de sua autoria, ambos produzidos pela Cazumbá Filmes, e ao desenvolvimento de seu primeiro longa-metragem de ficção Matar um dragão na Capadócia.Larissa acredita no reencantamento do mundo, como forma afetiva, política e estética de vida. Seus filmes e os projetos no qual se engaja estão enraizados nessas ideias.
Larissa Figueiredo is a filmmaker, dancer and educator. She studied Literature at the Universidade de Brasília, Film Studies at the Université Lumière Lyon 2, Film Directing at Univesidad del Cine, and Visual Arts/Cinema of Real at the Haute Ecole d’Art et Design de Genève, where she took classes with artists such as Miguel Gomes, Albert Serra and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. When a student Larissa was selected to the Locarno Film Academy, to the Talent Campus Buenos Aires and to the DFFB Berlinale Student Residency. The Bull, her first feature documentary, received the Visions Sud Est Award and was selected as a WIP to the Carte Blanche at the Locarno FF. The film had its world premiere at the 44th Rotterdam IFF, was screened in dozens of international film events and was shown in Brazilian theaters and TV. Larissa worked as screenwriter, director, producer and editor in many different projects, from short films, shown in international festivals, till TV series for channels such as HBO, Canal Curta! and Canal Brasil. As a writer/director she developed the feature project Agontimé, which integrated the Creative Incubator Project headed by the producing company Sto Lat Filmes, and counted with the consultancy of Lucrecia Martel, Karim Aïnouz, Rodrigo Moreno, Gema Juarez and Zsuzsanna Kiràly. This project was selected in many events, such as the the San Sebastian Co-Production Forum, and as awarded at the FidLab. As an educator, Larissa headed many workshops and taught in universities in Brazil and abroad, such as the EICTV, in Cuba, and Calarts, in USA. Currently she works on the postproduction of two projects written and directed by herself, a documentary feature and a hybrid TV series, and the development of her first fictional feature: To Kill a Dragon in Cappadocia. Larissa believes in the re-enchantment of the world as an affective, political and ethical way of existence. Her films and the projects which she is engaged with are rooted on these ideas.
